PYEXPO, is an exclusive hackathon event conducted at KGISL Institute of Technology. Organized by the IPS Tech Community , this event provides first-year students with an exciting opportunity to explore the world of hackathons – an experience that many have never encountered before. The IPS Tech Community is committed to empowering students by fostering innovation, collaboration, and technical growth.

Purpose of PyExpo 25
The primary goal of PyExpo 25 is to introduce first-year students to the collaborative, problem-solving nature of hackathons. It offers them a platform to nurture their technical skills, promote innovative thinking, and encourage teamwork. By participating in PyExpo 25, students gain hands-on experience in real-world problem-solving while being guided and mentored by seniors and experienced faculty members.

IDEA EVALUATION

Date : Dec 19-20, 2024

Experience the exciting journey of PyExpo'25 as we guide participants from preparation and idea development to the grand finale, showcasing innovation and talent at every step.
IDEA2EXPO

Date : Feb 17-18, 2025

Faculty mentors evaluate the practical feasibility and trends of ideas. The top 70+ teams proceed to the next stage.
HACKSHOP2EXPO

Date : Feb 19-20 & 24-27, 2025

Days of intensive workshops for selected teams to refine their ideas and enhance their skills.
HACKATHON2EXPO

Date : Feb 21-22, 2025

A 30-hour hackathon where teams develop and execute their ideas in a competitive environment.
PITCH2EXPO

Date : Feb 28, 2025

The remaining 30+ teams present their projects to a panel of judges, including visitors from KGCAS, KiTE, and IIM.
🏆 PYEXPO'25 - The Grand Finale

Date : Mar 1, 2025

The top projects are showcased to industry evaluators, who choose the best three teams. Winners are awarded and celebrated.

FAQ's

Who can participate?

The hackathon is open to all students from the first year of every department. Anyone interested in learning and innovating with Python is welcome.

Can I form my team with students from other departments?

Of course, interdisciplinary teams are allowed. However, the team will be classified under the team leader's department.

Can my friends from other college can apply for the event?

Unfortunately, no. This is an intra-college event.

What if I don’t know how to code?

No problem! Enthusiasm and the willingness to learn are far more important than your current skill level.

What are the prizes to be won?

Exciting prizes will be announced soon! Stay tuned for updates!

Can we apply as a team?

Yes! You can form teams of 4-6 members, with a mix of design and development skills.

I had a wonderful experience at PYEXPO'24. They provided us with wifi so that we wouldn't struggle with the network. They also provided is with dinner and breakfast and the food was great. Our mentors were helpful and without their contribution and especially motivation, I doubt whether we would've been able to present our project in the expo. Overall great experience and now I kinda know how it feels to work in the IT sector.
